I do not have any experience with therapy. Where should I get started?

I offer a 15 mins phone call to discuss your concerns, fee, schedule, and answer any question you may have. You could determine if we are a suitable fit. The initial sessions can be a period of getting acquainted.

How do I know if we are a good fit to work together?

Meeting a therapist for the first time can be a bit like a first date. It is essential to feel comfortable, understood, and respected. Trust your instincts. I encourage you to book an initial consolation with me to get to know each other. Remember that therapy is a collaborative process. If something doesn't feel right or if you have feedback for me as a therapist, communicate openly. A good therapist will appreciate your input and work with you to ensure your comfort and progress.

How do I prepare for the first session?

There is no right answer to this question. Whatever makes comfortable with you will make sense. Just bring yourself to session and talk, this is completely okay. Some clients prefer jotting down any thoughts, feelings, or questions they want to bring up. This can help you remember important points during the session and ensure you cover all the topics you want to address.

Find a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and that your device is charged. Come with an open mind. Therapy is a collaborative process, and the more open and honest you can be, the more beneficial the sessions are likely to be.

Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek clarification about the therapy process, therapeutic techniques being used, or any other concerns you might have.

After the session, take some time to reflect on what was discussed, any insights gained, and how you felt during the session. This reflection can provide valuable insights and help guide future sessions.

Remember that therapy can sometimes bring up strong emotions or stir up difficult memories. Be kind to yourself after the session. Engage in activities that help you feel grounded and cared for.
